What Others Are Saying About Our Rehabilitation and Long Term Care Center
"I think the nursing team is wonderful! Everyone has been so nice to me while I’ve been here. The food is good too; I like the turkey with gravy and rice. Therapy is tiring, but I know it’s helping me. And they give me plenty of exercise! I joke that they’ll have to call the police to get me out of here because I enjoy it so much here!"

“I had abdominal pain and it was so painful I was not able to walk. I was unsteady. The therapy staff, Occupational and Physical Therapy, had the bike, little rings, up and down steps, and the distance wheel that helped make me stronger. The food was okay, I asked for the salad and dressings. You can also ask to drink what you want, they are kind and friendly. They had arts craft and we made bookmarks, stained glasses, and I was the balloon shoot champion! I won a prize too! As a thank you, I made pictures for the staff.”

“I’ve been to a therapy place before, but they were too passive. I couldn’t walk at this first facility and I was scared. The first time I was up, it felt like I almost snapped after that. Here at The Emeralds at St. Paul, they didn’t give up on me and pushed me. I’m thankful for how they pushed me too. I wouldn’t have been able to go home without therapy’s help. I’m going to miss them. It’s hard to say good-bye to them. I had a great and awesome stay. No matter how hard you look, I don’t think you can find a better therapy team. I couldn’t ask for a better team.”

“This place is so comfortable! The people here are excellent, knowledgeable, professional, helpful, cheerful, and energetic! I was previously at another facility and it just didn’t work out for me. I ended up going to Regions Hospital for a week and I requested a transfer and I came here. The therapy staff was very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient with me. The nursing staff and CNA were also very helpful and knowledgeable. They were very considerate and patient as well. The food is good, the dietary manager was also very considerate about my food preferences. The facility was very clean and housekeeping cleans up every day.I would say that The Emeralds at St. Paul’s team was amazing because it was like I had discharged from my first hospitalization at Bethesda and came straight here. I initially wasn’t able to stand up and chew my food. The Emeralds at St. Paul’s nursing and therapy team picked up right where Bethesda Hospital left me and this was just so great! Today I can walk, I can eat, I can talk, I can do anything! Today, I am feeling very strong and great! Everyone here was amazing!”

“I came because of treatment for cancer. The tumor was impinging on my airway. They did surgery to take out the cancer and put in a trach. I was deemed cancer free and then I needed short term transitional care to make me totally well and healed. My social worker helped me to choose The Emeralds at St. Paul. I agreed with her. Melissa also came and met with me in person and talked about The Emeralds at St. Paul. The benefits of being at The Emeralds at St. Paul has been to build myself back up, health wise, and to not be needing a trach anymore. The staff are all pretty much good staff. Therapy was good too. They kept me on my toes and helped me back on my feet. Keeping my balance was a lot of work. I think that The Emeralds at St. Paul was a big role in my recovery because of all the things I needed to do to be done. The Emeralds at St. Paul is the only place that I know is a good rehab place and I would recommend it to others like me.”
